With the electric vehicle (EV) trade very much in its infancy, we are aware that there are a lot of first time EV owners and subsequently a lot of questions and uncertainty around the best way to look after their EV.

Which parts of my electric car need servicing?
Unlike petrol and diesel motors, electric motors are fairly simple, often comprising less than 20 parts. That means, there is no oil to change, filters to renew and no cambelt or water pump to change.
Motor - With an electric motor, we can check everything with our specialist diagnostic equipment, to quickly and accurately assess engine health and diagnose any issues. The same goes for the battery, or batteries, if you have a 4 wheel drive.
High voltage cables - These also need to be carefully checked for damage and loose connections.These are well protected and are therefore unlikely to produce any issues.
Transmission - We check this to be sure but the expectation is that this will last forever.
Cooling system - These highly intelligent systems require fluid level checks and top-ups when required.
Brake system - We check the pads and hydraulic fluid levels are within the correct limits to ensure your continued safety.
Suspension and steering components - These are expected to require very little attention but still need to be checked for your motoring safety.
Tyres - You can expect to see slightly higher tyre wear with electrical vehicles. We provide you with an estimated remaining mileage in your tyres and advise when they need to be changed.
Heating and ventilation systems - We will check the air filter and refrigerant levels.
